All About Dress Colours

Sep 1, 2023

White may have been the wedding dress colour of choice for many centuries but today there are many shades of wedding gowns for you brides to choose from. From pure white to the now more traditional ivory and many more undertone options in between. Here at SCB we have the variety to best flatter all skin tones, think latte, frost, biscotti and almond as just some of the alternate choices. But which will you choose?

Ivory

White wedding gowns didn’t become popular until Queen Victoria wore a white wedding dress to marry Prince Albert in 1840. Up until that time, Brides wore any colour they desired and were more concerned with wearing the most beautiful dress they could afford! While pure white may be considered more traditional, many brides today choose ivory because of its soft warmth and tendency to flatter all skin tones.
