2023 Wedding Stationery Trends

With 2023 just around the corner, there’s no better time to be planning your invitations! After a lot of research and looking into what our brides are asking for and ordering for their 2023 nuptials, I have devised a list of the most popular and gorgeous trends I’m predicting to be huge for the new year.

Accessorise in Style

No invitation set I see feels complete without an elegant, finishing touch. Whether that be wax seals, velum or beautiful silk ribbons, your invitations will look instantly more sophisticated and complete by adding these delicate extras. With the rise in popularity of shows such as Bridgerton, the classic, regency look has become evermore popular and creates an air of excitement for the wonderfully stylish wedding that’s sure to come!

Dainty Florals

Florals are such a staple go-to for a classic wedding invitation but don’t be fooled! For those of you who may find them outdated or uninspiring, florals have had a stunning revamp for our modern day brides. Beautiful watercolours, handpainted designs and wildflower inspiration has taken over the scene of floral wedding invites and has been given a much-needed new edge. Therefore, if you want to include florals in your invites and theme for your wedding, opt for watercolour drawings and flowers such as bluebells, daisies, orchids, thistles, or lily-of-the-valley to name a few for an up-to-date, modern look!

Navy Blue

After attending the National Wedding fair 2022 and speaking with other wedding stationers, I concluded that navy blue seems to be a go-to base colour for brides. Due to its timeless and classic look, it’s the perfect deep base to match most softer colours such as sage green or blush pink. It also works beautifully alongside colours equally as bold and bright such as burnt orange or mustard yellow. Especially during the early winter months of 2023, I expect to see a lot of brides incorporating this royal colour into their wedding theme, including invitations.

Alternative shapes

In addition to the traditional Boutique or tri-fold shapes, we’re seeing a lot of modern and interesting shapes and sizes becoming much more popular. Different shapes such as beautiful, soft arches, ripped or scalloped edges and landscape-printed invitations are becoming more desirable for 2023 brides. It’s a way of revamping your invitations and offering something different without going too out there with your designs.

In conclusion, even though it’s great to feel on-trend and adhere to current popular looks and designs, it’s important to also consider what you love and what you want your wedding to look like and consist of. When making your decisions, remember to also think about your tastes and styles to make sure your choices are timeless and beautiful to you!
