Introducing our wonderful team here at Shropshire Country Brides, who are all passionate about the Bridal Industry and our fabulous boutique, offering friendly and professional service to our beautiful brides during their wedding dress shopping experience.
Jackie – Business Owner
It all started with a Prosecco …. Many moons ago Jackie previously worked as the manager of SCB but city life was calling. In 2016 Jackie returned from working in London and living in Kent, back to Shropshire to be close to her two children Jamie and Emma. After renovating her lovely home Jackie decided it was time she needed something to keep her busy …
After popping to Shropshire Country Brides, shopping for Emma’s wedding dress, she learnt that the business was in fact for sale. So one summer evening over a Prosecco (of course) Emma suggested that Jackie bought the business. In 2017 with her vast experience in the bridal industry, Jackie purchased SCB, relocated the business to it’s current location and the rest is history …
Jackie truly is the face of SCB, she offers a warm welcome to SCB and has a vast knowledge of the SCB gowns and whole heartedly takes the time to get to know her brides to ensure she finds them the perfect gown for their magical day.
Our ‘SCB mum’ Jackie, when not helping you beautiful ladies is usually Sauvignon in hand or spending time with her grandchildren and her dog Coco. However Jackie has a real love for her business and what she does, so enjoys being in the showroom floating in on appointments helping the other stylists find their brides dream gowns.
Jackie can’t pick a specific designer or gown that she loves because she loves them all for different reasons, she loves seeing the styles change year to year and adapting dresses to suit the individual to make them unique.
Emma – Manager
Emma is Jackie’s daughter and runs the business with her mum. Emma is usually your first point of contact with SCB, found in the office answering your calls and emails, placing the orders for your beautiful gowns.
Leaving her managerial job when Jackie bought the business in 2017, she joined her mum on her new venture. Together the duo have evolved the business over the years and love working together, both as mother and daughter and as best friends.
You will usually find Emma in her spare time on a hill with her two lovely cavapoos Milo and Otto, or with a wine in her hand snuggled by the fire. Emma loves spending time with her husband Ben and family and friends.
If Emma had to pick a favourite designer it would be Stella York, ”I love the sexy and fashion forward details across the Stella York collection, They offer sizes and styles to suit all shapes and sizes, giving every bride the most flattering fit. I adore a ballgown dress, my favourite would be the clean and classic Stella York 6758”.
Kerrie – Bridal Stylist
Kerrie has years of experience working in the Wedding industry having previously ran her own cake business supplying bespoke wedding Cakes to the beautiful couples of Shropshire.
Kerrie loves making ladies feel confident when finding their dream gown. She has a special knack for finding exactly what a bride is looking for, even when a bride doesn’t know herself! She loves seeing the complete brides journey from hand-picking their perfect dress, helping them choose their complementing accessories to seeing the end result on their wedding day. Her favourite designer is Martina Liana as they bring a classic, modern twist.
Kerrie loves spending time with her ever growing family and the newest addition, ‘Pasha’ her cockapoo.
Julia – Social Media Coordinator and Bridal Stylist
Julia splits her time between the office and our beautiful showroom. Julia loves showcasing our gorgeous gowns on our social media platforms and corresponding with our bridestobe and real brides throughout their bridal journey.
Having recently gotten married, Julia knows first hand the impending excitement and anticipation that our brides are feeling. When she’s not editing photos and creating blogs, Julia spends quality time with her husband and son, Freddie.
Julia’s favourite designer is Martina Liana. Not only did she choose a Martina for her wedding day last year but she loves the intricate detailing and exquisite fashion forward designs that accompany a bridal collection with such irresistible sophistication.
Melissa- Bridal Stylist
Melissa came into the showroom in 2022, to find her “yes” dress and not only did she find it she also walked out with a job.
Melissa has a background in the wedding industry having been a wedding coordinator at a popular wedding venue and then working in the beauty industry led to wedding make-up for brides.
Melissa is passionate in helping new brides to have the amazing experience she did when she was looking for her dress. She loves to make everyone feel confident, happy and most importantly relaxed. Melissa loves nothing more than feeling part of everyone’s day.
When Melissa isn’t working with us she loves to be with her family and friends. She is currently preparing for her own wedding this summer.
Her favourite gowns are Essense of Australia. The detail and elegance of them are just stunning.
Sarah – Bridal Stylist
Having recently found her own Wedding dress here at SCB, Sarah is confident and eager to share the same positive experience to future brides. Sarah has always grown up passionate about fashion and with a family very female-orientated she loves being able to help women feel confident no matter their shape or size.
Sarah’s background is working in the healthcare sector but when she heard about the position at SCB she just knew she had to apply. She is enjoying every minute of her new and exciting role. Her favourite designer has to be Stella York with Style 6752 being her chosen dress for her Wedding day.
In her spare time she loves nothing more than just being with her husband, two boys and dog walking the hills in Church Stretton.
